Sermon Preview: YOU ARE... OPPOSED

This week's sermon is a clarifying look at an important, and sometimes misunderstood topic: spiritual warfare. The message will focus on Ephesians 6:10-18, and the statement of conviction will be: You are opposed by the enemy; and you stand firm through Christ.

After an amazing letter of deep, Christ-centered theology and challenging teaching regarding Christian life and ministry, the final chapter of Ephesians focuses on the great threat of the enemy in the life of the church. Though we may think little of spiritual threats in our culture, the Scriptures are clear that we have a real enemy who seeks to thwart the plan of God and destroy His church. Paul calls the church to stand firm against the onslaught of attacks that come from the devil's hand. In this passage, he gives instruction about the armor of God, and how we as Christians can remain steadfast in Christ amid the temptations and deceptions of the enemy. We are called to look to Christ in the gospel, and pray persistently that the church might stand in victory through Him.

In preparation for tomorrow's message, I encourage you to spend time in Ephesians 6:10-18, and ask the Lord to strengthen your heart through His word.
